Welcome Reception

An informal Welcome Reception will be held on the Monday evening. This reception will coincide with the opening of the exhibition allowing delegates to relax and socialise, renewing old friendships and making new ones. Refreshments and snacks will be served.

Opening Session

The Opening Session will take place in the Pentland Auditorium, located in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The Keynote speech will be given by Professor Sir John Beddington FRS.

Gala Dinner

The WFC 2012 Gala Dinner will be hosted in true Celtic style at Murrayfield Stadium, home of Scottish Rugby and one of the most prestigious stadia in Europe. On arrival delegates will enter the stadium trackside and will be received with a welcome drink prior to being seated and served with a Scottish themed menu. A cash bar will be available after the meal, providing delegates with ample opportunity to socialise and make new acquaintances. Entertainment with a Scottish flavour will be provided during the evening, so it’s an event you are not going to want to miss! Tickets will be available for dinner and dancing or dancing only.
